Founding Team
David Kimondiu; Co-founder & President
David is a soon-to graduate Economics student at Stanford University. Though from a humble background in rural Makueni, Kenya, the generosity of others has afforded him a truly holistic education in elite world-class schools. He has schooled in Nairobi, Switzerland, South Africa and currently in the United States. He is passionate about social entrepreneurship and scalable development in rural areas. He recognizes the immense opportunities there are in rural communities - like the one where he comes from. He believes it is possible to achieve eradication of absolute poverty. As the President, his key goal is to achieve an unmatched level of financial independence at Opportune Edulink - a proof that key solutions to major socio-economic problems lie within affected communities.

Jacinta Mbilo; Co-founder & Secretary
Jacinta is a City Planner and a researcher at the University of Nairobi Kenya. She is a University of California, Berkeley alumnus. In her life and professional journey she attributes her success to the support and guidance offered by various mentors in her life. Just like the African Proverb goes, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, it has taken more than the village. The synergies from these initiatives have encouraged her to give back. She believes in social entrepreneurship to build capacity and improve livelihoods for the poor. As the secretary of Opportune Edulink, she is committed to achieving sustainable financial independence for the rural poor through income generating activities and educational support.
